St Peterskirche

While this is the oldest parish church in Munich (from 1150), you’re really coming for the 306 foot view. Known by locals as Alter Peter (Old Peter), it stands on Munich’s only real hill. Check out the Gothic St. Martin Alter, baroque frescoed ceiling painted by Johann Baptist Zimmermann, and rococo sculptures by artist Ignaz Gunther. Climb up the tower to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire city center and if the weather is nice, you can even see the Alps. Consider avoid being at the top at the top of the hour…the bells are loud.
