Nuremberg offers a massive and wonderful Christmas Market (our personal favorite in Germany). It began in the early 16th century and offers handmade gifts, mulled wine, and gingerbread in one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany. It currently has about 180 wooden stalls covered with red and white canvas. It’s located right in Nuremberg Market Square, Hauptmarkt, in the heart of the old town. The Nuremberg Children’s Christmas area offers a two-tiered carrousel, mini Ferris wheel, and steam railway.
