Golden Gate Bridge

You can't miss this iconic site. This is the signature site of the city built in 1937 and connects San Francisco to the North and Marin highlands. Some good places to see it from: the beach near Ghirardelli square, Fort Point, or in Marin at Vista Point.

Lands End walk

This is one of the prettiest walks in San Francisco that begins at the Ocean Beach, winds past the historic Sutro Baths and offers sweeping and iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge - 3.4 miles in total.

Chiesa Madonna della Rocca

The Chiesa Madonna della Rocca is a Norman church dating from the 11th or 12th century A.D. Originally carved from a cave, a massive rock formation still forms much of the roof. The church is worth a visit no matter how you get there, and it's possible to drive or take a bus. But we recommend walking from Taormina (about 20-30 minutes), a challenging uphill walk that's worth it for the exercise and the incredible views.

La Rambla

Is this an activity or an attraction? Well...it's kind of both. Las Ramblas has served as Barcelon'as main boulevard for over a century. It begins at the Placa de Catalunya and proceeds to the waterfront. It's a huge tree line boulevard that now offers up more over-touristy knick knacks and overpriced bad food (very little of it local), however if you can look beyond the ridiculous stands and restaurants, it's a lovely pedestrian-only tree-lined road that can be enjoyable.

Giant’s Causeway

This Unesco world heritage sight is a must see in northern Ireland. Scientists claim that the ballot hexagonal column sticking up at various heights from the sea were caused by volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago. As the lava rolled it crystallized into columns. This is a truly impressive sight. There is a bus (or walk) down from the visitor center to the columns. You can explore to your hearts content as there are a variety of walks.

Walk Around Gamla Stan

Gamla Stan is Stockholm's Old Town dating from the 13th century. Meander through the pedestrian only cobblestone streets, get lost in a labyrinth of alleyways, enjoy the architecture from the 1700-180…

Dubrovnik City Walls

If you do one thing in Dubrovnik this should be it (besides wandering the streets within the walls). It's an incredibly scenic slightly over a mile long stroll along the 15th century walls of the city, giving sweeping views of the Adriatic and nearby islands as well as the crowded streets and red rooftops making up the city below.

Lahaina

Lahaina is Hawaii's historic former capital and was the hub of whaling and missionary activity. It's a great town to wander around on foot with real charm.
