Da Greco

Maybe you think it’s strange that we’re recommending an Italian restaurant in the heart of Catalonia, but we really are. This place was wonderful and really fun. Any restaurant where you have a ring a bell to get in (we didn’t know about that and followed another party in) is bound give a different experience. Located in a historical mansion, each dining area is decorated differently with unique sculptures and art and you dine to the background of opera – it’s a whole experience. The food is authentic Italian (the chef is Italian) and the menu had a ton of delicious options to choose from. A word of warning: the portion sizes are enormous and the restaurant brings you a plate of what your dining partner is eating…so you really get 2 plates of pasta instead of one. Strongly consider sharing. The burrata salad was truly excellent, as was the risotto cooked in a parmesan wheel and white truffle ravioli. I highly recommend the lemon sorbet with limoncello for dessert. They had a good wine list, the prices were extremely reasonable, and they had a very friendly and helpful waitstaff. Of note, we were told you need reservations to get seated, however we showed up exactly at 20:30 when the restaurant opened on a Saturday and did not find that to be the case.
