Corpus Christi Church and Convent

This church from 1607 is a nice quick visit, boasting a Last Supper altarpiece. At the convent half a block down you can buy items from the cloistered nuns by ringing the buzzer near the sign that says "Venta de Dulces."

Bled Island

Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon

Established by French colonists, the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon was built between 1863 and 1860. The materials were imported from France, and the cathedral features beautiful Romanesque bell towers.

Bich Dong Pagoda

A pagoda complex built in 1428, Bich Dong is a picturesque set of three temples built on the side of a beautiful mountain overlooking rolling fields and rice paddies. Be sure to hike to all three pagodas, and then ascend past the last one of a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Very impressive cathedral in old town Estonia with ornate decorations and beautiful stained glass windows. Completed in 1900 when Estonia was part of the Russian empire, the cathedral is built in the Russian Revival style.

Roskilde Cathedral

By far the most impressive church in Scandinavia. Dubbed “Denmark’s Westminster Abbey,” Roskilde Cathedral dates from the 1100s and is the burial place for the royal family; 40 kings and queens of Denmark are buried here. The church itself is enormous and beautifully decorated.

Church of Our Saviour (Vor Frelsers Kirke)

A 17th-century baroque church. Its primary feature is the 300-foot spire, which you can pay to climb. It's 400 steps to the top, the last 150 of which are on the exterior of the spire. We think the price and the effort are worth it for the incredible views of the city.
