The Von Trapp family (made famous in the Sound of Music) settled near Stowe, Vermont after fleeing Austria. They built a lovely lodge on the top of a hill surrounded by beautiful mountains, forests, and fall color. Take a look at the lodge then drive down the hill short distance to the brewery and beer hall for lunch.
