Steðji is a neat brewery in an old western Iceland farmhouse. It’s a working brewery so expect long wooden tables in and a dark, stark environment with great music overhead from the owner’s iPhone. It features some unique and truly odd beers including those made out of whale testicles (I asked, and evidently they purchase left-over parts from whalers that would otherwise be thrown away. I, perhaps naively, hope this is true. And while I would also hope they would stop producing this product when Iceland stops it’s practice of whaling, it’s hard to know.). The other beers were very good, varied, and flavorful, and it’s probably worth considering a stop if you’re in the area.
