If you want to experience a luau, Lahaina is the place with its Old Lahaina Luau. While many luaus are disgustingly touristy (think big resort luau), this one tends is more authentic and shares more of Hawaii’s history and culture (you’ll need reservations). It’s not cheap (none of them are) but it’s a reasonable deal.
