A charming boutique this is not, but we think this Marriott property is a great option to stay in Portland. It’s clean and comfortable and has a nice bar with a surprisingly good happy hour (though we didn’t use it; the other options to eat and drink in Portland were too enticing). Most importantly for us, it’s in an excellent location and offers reasonable rates.
Parking is valet only (a reasonable $30/night); if you want to save some money, we recommend the Ocean Gateway parking lot at the intersection of Thames Street and India Street for $15/day (NOT the Ocean Gateway Garage; this is an open lot). The parking lot is about a block from the hotel (enter on Thames Street).
