United States | Washington, D.C.
The home and office of the President of the United States and his or her highest-level staff, the White House is one of the most famous mansions in the world. While you should definitely stroll by and see it from the outside, we think you should skip the tour. It’s crowded, not particularly interesting, and the fact that the White House is a working office means that certain rooms or areas are often off-limits.
Admission
Free, but tours must be pre-arranged. If you are a United States citizen, you can arrange a tour through your Member of Congress. If you are a citizen of another country, contact your country’s embassy in Washington, D.C.
