Sitting grandly atop a hill in Helsinki’s Katajanokka peninsula, Uspenski Cathedral is a Finnish Orthodox cathedral. Built between 1862 and 1888, the cathedral was designed by Russian architect Aleksey Gornostayev, who died the year construction began. The exterior is beautiful and interior is breathtaking. Uspenski hosts several important religious icons.
