A tranquil Confucian temple in the center of Hanoi. The temple is a series of beautifully kept lawns lined with trees, stone courtyards, and temples. It is a remarkably peaceful spot in such a bustling, overwhelming city. Vietnam’s first university and built in 1070 at the time of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông, the temple still contains records of the university’s graduates, some dating back almost a thousand years.
