This old theatre sits on the Plaza de la Cultura and is arguably the prettiest building in San José. It was built in 1897 and has a lovely marble lobby and some beautiful paintings. Hourly tours are offered of the theatre. There is also a great cafe (with really fantastic local coffee) if you need lunch. If you’re grabbing a city walking tour, it may start here.
