You can get an idea of how long a church has been on this site when you look at the name which was given because at the time, there were fields at this spot in the center of modern-day London. The current structure dates only back to the 1720’s, however. St Martin is known for hosting concerts or you can try your hand at brass rubbing (in the shop) and have lunch at the cafe in the crypt under the church.
