One of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls (and that’s saying something), Skógafoss is a must-see. Stop by the side of the road on the way in or out to take pictures of the waterfall with fields of arctic lupine in the foreground. Climb some no-joke stairs to the top of the waterfall to get a new perspective on Skógafoss itself, as well as scenic vistas of Iceland’s south coast. Continue hiking above the waterfall as far as you like; the trail passes 26 waterfalls over about 15.5 miles and will probably take you 12-14 hours. Just go as far as you like, then turn around.
