This picturesque lighthouse is only about a 20 minute drive from downtown Portland, and it’s a great introduction to Maine’s many lighthouses. The lighthouse on this site dates to around 1791, and a small museum houses exhibits on the history of the lighthouse and its keepers. Be sure to stroll along the rocks across the small inlet from the lighthouse. The adjacent park offers short hikes and walks and two food vendors.
