Museum of Naive Art

This museum was shockingly fantastic and is totally worth the visit. It features expressionistic paintings by untrained Croatian peasant artists between the 1930s-1980s. Evidently in the 19th century the art world began embracing self-trained artists. This idea hit Croatia in the 1930s while most Croatians at the time were living without modern conveniences in a world not yet caught up to modern times. While that might not sound like much, the paintings are beautiful and very different from anything else you’ve seen in other museums.
