This is our favorite aquarium in the world (and one of the most famous). It’s located in an old cannery building on Monterey Bay. Millions of people stream through here to get a look at fascinating see life, but it offers much more with its focus on ocean and sealife preservation and education. The open sea exhibit is truly remarkable, the jelly fish are beautiful, and the kelp stalks are amazing. The penguins too are a can’t miss. This place is crowded, especially on the weekends. It’s also expensive (around $50) but well worth the price of admission.
