Set on a side street off of Las Ramblas, this market has been in existence in one form or another since 1200. It’s a great place to grab lunch or just peruse tempting fruit, fish, meat, cheese, and local Catalan products. The current market is covered with a colorful arcade, added in 1850. The further back into the market you wander, the lower the prices get and where the locals tend to head. Overall the market is fun even if you aren’t hungry, and worth it for the extremely cheap fresh squeezed fruit juice offered from many stalls.
