OK we admit it – cheesy as this may sound we really enjoyed a visit to the Hobbiton movie set. It helps that I’m a huge dork and fan of the Lord of the Rings but they actually did a nice job with this tour. You wander around the shire with guide and they do take the time to explain some of the “movie magic” and obsessive attention to detail that went into the films. And it really is a lovely setting. You then stop by the Green Dragon pub for a beer or other drink / snack.
