Munich’s equivalent to Central Park, the English Garden was designed in 1789 and stretches 3 miles across the city. On a sunny day it’s teeming with locals. Look for surfers under the bridge, the hilltop temple with a view over the city, and stop at the Chinese Tower beer garden for a drink. There’s also a Japanese teahouse.
