Catch a ferry, operated by Statue Cruises out of New York Harbor at Battery Park to see both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. You’ll buy 1 ticket to see both. The ticket grants you admission to the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum as well as access to the Statue of Liberty (where you can choose Grounds, Crown or Pedestal as to how far up you want to go). An audio tour is included with both sites. This is the only ferry service authorized by the National Park Service to do this trip, so don’t take another cruise. Buy tickets ahead of time at www.statuecruises.com.
Tours generally start at 9:00 am and leave about every 20 minutes with the last trip leaving at 3:30 pm.
