Dali Theatre-Museum (Teatre-Museu Dali)

Ok, I loved this museum, and not everyone in our group did, but it’s just SO WEIRD. It’s amazing. That being said, this is the best Dali sight probably anywhere. Dali in 1974 personally designed and decorated the museum to showcase his art. The entire museum is one wacky experience and is housed in a former theatre. It also serves as Dali’s mausoleum (he’s in the crypt below center stage). You can’t possibly miss it driving in – it’s bright pink, studded with gold bread, and on the top are a bunch of giant eggs – once you enter it’s like jumping into the artist’s mind. There is no correct order and no sign postage of what anything is…you just explore. Definitely buy a time-stamped ticket in advance (it’s an incredibly popular site). We saw some people with guides which honestly would have been helpful so you might want to consider. Once you finish pop into the adjacent “Dali’s Jewels” exhibit – it was worth the detour.
