These are great beaches in Makena state park in south Maui. Big Beach is, well big, but also beautiful. It offers good body surfing at times but the waves can get too big to make it safe. Little beach is a short walk over trails though lava on the right end of big beach and is much more protected. However, be aware that the is one of the nudist beaches on the island (technically illegal but rules not always followed) so check out the “view” before you walk down to decide if it’s for your group or not on any given day.
