This beautiful museum houses artifacts recovered from the Acropolis (though many of the best-preserved are at the British Museum in London—indeed, the Acropolis Museum was create in part to tempt them back to Athens). The museum walks you through the many temples created on the site of the Acropolis dating to prehistory, and the top floor is a full-size layout of the Parthenon, with many of the best artifacts remaining in Greece on display. All the while you can gaze out through the museum’s floor-to-ceiling windows at the Acropolis above.
