Even if you don’t stay on the property, the Celler Martin Faixo offers wonderful wine tasting and is worth the stop. In 2000 the family rebuilt a winery on the original site their family had tended grapes in the previous century, in the heart of the natural park of Cap de Creus. In 2007 the wines first came to market. The cellar produces Garnacha Negra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Moscat de Alexandria, and a variety unique to the region, Picapoll. It also makes champagne and a really wonderful vermouth. If you stay on the charming property, a tour is included with your booking. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wines and process. It was an interesting tour and enjoyable to walk around the property and see each step of the process. The winery itself is on a beautiful setting with a fantastic view.
