This is a small yet charming Christmas Market dating back to 950 is set in the main town square. While significantly smaller than most cities’ (Rothenburg itself is small) it’s charming purely for its location. Rothenburg ob der Tauber embraces Christmas all year long with its German Christmas Museum but really comes alive with its market. The Market is named after a local Teutonic legend about a rider who gave gifts to all people on earth. Don’t miss grabbing a Schneeball (even though they aren’t very good, they are a local special).
