Juneau Whale Watching

A whale watching trip is a great way to spend a few hours during your time in Juneau. Trips vary in length, but we recommend spending least 2.5 hours on the water. You’re virtually guaranteed to see humpback whales and bald eagles. If you’re lucky, you might also see bears, orcas, sea lions, and more.

There are several different companies that offer whale watching tours in Juneau. We highly recommend departing from Auke Bay, north of town, where the weather is usually a little better, and you’ll have a short ride to prime whale and eagle habitats and to Admiralty Island. We loved our tour with The Local Guy, who knows the waters well and offers private tours on a small boat.
