What used to be a train track running from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street was turned into a public park in 2009. It’s a beautiful 1.5 mile walk which gives you views of architecture throughout the city and is a great escape for a bit of nature, views over the Hudson River, and public art installations. Free tours are led by docents on Tuesdays at 5:30pm between September and October, 6:30 pm between April and August, and Saturdays at 10 am from April to October. Or the High Line and Chelsea Market is a great options of a tour during the day. Get off in the Meatpacking District.
