This is the kind of gondola you ride up a mountain on. Grab it at Heavenly Ski resort and soar up the slopes. You’ll get panoramic views of Lake Tahoe at the top. You can stop on the way up at the Observation Deck for photos and a coffee. At the top, keep riding up the Tamarack Express chairlift for even better views and a bunch of hiking trails.
This is an expensive ticket but kind of fun and does offer beautiful views and access to some hiking trails. If you really want a bird’s eye view of Lake Tahoe, it’s probably worth it, but if you’ve ridden gondolas before or are an avid skier this might be disappointing.
