You’ll get an opportunity to see natural beauty and explore history and culture on this all-day adventure. You’ll depart from Longyearbyen and cruise across the Arctic Ocean to the Esmark Glacier. You’ll enjoy great views of the massive river of ice, with opportunities to see seals (and maybe a polar bear). After a lunch on deck (be sure to avoid the whale), you’ll circle around to the south to the Russian settlement of Barentsburg. A walking tour of Barentsburg will give you a fascinating look into the settlement’s history and culture (as well as a large helping of propaganda). Be sure to visit the Red Bear Pub & Brewery while you’re there—the beer is less than half as expensive as it is in Longyearbyen, and it’s quite good!
